Just to catch up on some of what’s been going on so far this month, business has been pretty slow.
For whatever reason, my Etsy sales have dropped a lot since I got back from vacation. Before I left, I was getting Etsy sales almost every day. Some days I would get four or five sales.
Now I’m getting maybe one sale every two or three days.
That’s crazy.
I don’t know exactly what happened. Maybe putting the store on vacation messed with my ranking in the algorithm, or maybe something else changed. I really don’t know.
I’ve been working on my second Etsy store.
My main Etsy store is very niche, so I want to build another store that’s more generic. Basically, I can use that store for whatever ideas I come up with instead of having to make everything fit within the niche of my main store.
I want to see if I can build Etsy into a bigger source of income. Right now, I’m trying to get the second store going and see what I can do with it.
eBay revenue is down this month too.
eBay isn’t doing too bad, but revenue is definitely down compared to what I was doing before. I’ve also just been moving a lot slower with the business this month.
I haven’t done nearly as much content as I said I wanted to do. Honestly, I think I’m just doing too many things at once. I’ve been saying that a lot lately, but it’s becoming more obvious to me.
I’ve started cutting some expenses.
I canceled some subscriptions because there’s no reason for me to keep paying for services that I’m barely using. I’m thinking about canceling a few more as well.
One idea I’ve been considering is taking some of that money and putting it toward a storage unit instead. I’ve seen some storage options for around $200 to $300 a month, which isn’t too bad.
I’m not sure if I’ll do that later this year or wait until next year. I might want to build the business up some more before adding another monthly expense.
Having storage would give me a lot more room for inventory. I could also start selling a lot more on Facebook Marketplace, which is something else I’ve been thinking about.
For now, I’m still figuring out when it makes sense to add the storage unit and how much I want to build up the business before I do it.
