First off, life threw a curveball with a lawyer hitting me up about an ongoing case. The last-minute document gathering \u2013 not the smooth sailing I had in mind. And that dryer I scored from Facebook Marketplace last week? Turns out it was a lemon. So, there I was, on an unexpected mission to buy and install another one. Oh, and let’s not breeze past the fact that fitting a dryer in my house involves clearing out the entire laundry room. The joy of home improvement, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Work went into overdrive, and I found myself clocking a jaw-dropping 76 hours. The funeral industry’s demands are relentless. Just when I thought I had a brilliant plan to post some ads on Craigslist for a business idea, they all got flagged. Time to pivot and rewrite the playbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The week’s challenges didn’t stop at work and an attorney \u2013 my trusty ride decided to break on me as well. It started making this screeching sound that I’m hoping is just the breaks, but I think it might be somehting else. I had to drop the car at my parents until I figure out what I’m going to do with it. However, in the meatnime my mom let me use here for a little bit. Now, cruising in my mom’s car buys me a few days of mobility at most. Time is of the essence, and I need to figure out the car situation pronto. If I don’t figure it out by the end of this week I know she (my mom) is going to start to stress me out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, hey, it’s not all doom and gloom. I managed to kickstart some home repairs \u2013 a silver lining in this whirlwind of a week. It’s a work in progress, and the finish line is set for the end of the month. That’s the beacon of good news in this storm. The guy who sold me the dryer also happened to be a wealthy dude who looked like he was the future me. We talked and all the ideas that I thought would work on paper but was not sure if they would work in practicality, he’s already done. He gave me a million dollars\u2019 worth of advice and I have his number now. He said if I needed anything I could contact him. I’m excited about that because he gave me the confidence that my thought process and perspective on certain things are spot on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let’s not sugarcoat it \u2013 this week has been stressful. Many of the plans I meticulously laid out got slammed with roadblocks, either getting shut down or stalled due to the ever-present nemesis: limited capital. Time to regroup, recalibrate, and forge new paths to make things happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking ahead, school’s about to jump back into the picture. A two-hour drive to campus, a seven-hour stint there, and then, with traffic, a whopping three-and-a-half-hour return journey. Tuesdays are shaping up to be marathons, and I need to figure out how to weave the rest of the week around that chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Setting the bar high for this month \u2013 aiming to complete a whopping 85 percent of my school assignments before February hits. Let’s see how this juggling act pans out. Oh, and the other goal? Home sweet (improved) home. It’s a grind, but I’m all in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I analyze the first 14 days of 2024, I find myself starting the year off way too slowly. I honestly thought I would be a little farther along. There is a laundry list of things that still need to get done and I have not even started on them, yet. Instead, I just keep getting more problems added to my plate. The 65 to 70-hour work weeks are starting to frustrate me, but I understand they are necessary. I want to use the money to pay off my current credit card debts and to increase my savings for the next step. However, I have yet to go to the gym, and that was something that I wanted to prioritize this year as well. I\u2019ll do better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
