The roofer finally came out to start working on the roof at my Apopka rental property this week. I’m glad that the project is finally moving forward, but I’m pretty disappointed that it took them this long to get started. It’s been approximately two months since I selected this contractor for the job, and I still don’t understand why it took so long. The contractor mentioned that they were extremely backed up with other projects, but making a customer wait two months to begin work is unacceptable, especially considering how much this delay has affected my plans for the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m happy that they’re finally working on it, but I’m not sure whether I’ll use this company again. They’re a construction company, so there are plenty of other projects I could potentially hire them for in the future. However, this experience has taught me that I need to be much more specific about timelines when hiring contractors. From now on, I’m going to make sure I ask exactly when a project can begin and clearly communicate when I need it completed before agreeing to anything. I don’t want to end up in another situation where I’m waiting months for work that I expected to be completed much sooner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For now, I’m just hoping they do a good job and that everything goes smoothly. Once the roof is finished, I want to see whether I can get the insurance premium on this property reduced. That’s one of the main reasons I’ve been pushing to get this project completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Right now, my goal for the Apopka rental is simply to get it to break even. Between the insurance costs, maintenance expenses and everything else I’ve had to deal with, this property has been costing me far more than I originally anticipated. If I can lower the insurance premium, that would be a significant step toward getting the property’s finances under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hopefully, once these repairs are behind me and the expenses become more manageable, I can eventually get this house to start generating a profit. For now, though, I’ll be happy just to stop losing money on it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
