{"id":434,"date":"2026-08-27T04:30:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T03:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milliondollardiary.com\/?p=434"},"modified":"2026-08-27T04:30:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T03:30:21","slug":"my-2026-financial-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milliondollardiary.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/27\/my-2026-financial-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"My 2026 Financial Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At the beginning of the year, I set a few financial goals that I wanted to hit by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Here&#8217;s what I&#8217;m working toward:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>401(k): $100,000<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robinhood: $50,000<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roth IRA: $40,000<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Savings: $25,000<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Student loans: Get the balance down to $5,000<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>I already hit my 401(k) goal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">My 401(k) officially crossed $100,000 earlier last month (I think), so I can check that one off the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">My savings is a different story. I&#8217;ve been slipping below the $25,000 mark, and that&#8217;s probably going to get worse before it gets better. I still have to finish the roof on the rental property, which is going to cost me a lot of money. There&#8217;s also a good chance I&#8217;ll end up kicking one of the tenants out in the not couple of days, so I need to be prepared for whatever that ends up costing me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>My Roth IRA is getting close.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">I&#8217;m not at $40,000 yet, but I only have around $1,500 left to contribute before I max it out for the year. Assuming the market goes up another 2% or so before the end of the year, I should have a decent shot at reaching $40,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">I still have Robinhood and my student loans to work on as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of these numbers are connected to the bigger financial goal I&#8217;ve been working toward.
