I don’t think I mentioned this before, but we officially hired someone new at work. Once I get him trained, things should finally calm down and return to normal. It’s been hectic trying to manage everything while we’ve been short staffed, so having an extra hand will make a huge difference. He seems like a good kid too, so I’m hopeful he’ll pick things up quickly.

The termite guy I met with last Friday still hasn’t called me back, which is frustrating. I was supposed to call him today, but between work and everything else that came up, I completely lost track of time. I started feeling some sensitivity in the tooth I got filled a couple of months ago, so I had to make a trip to the dentist. Thankfully, they got me in right away and handled it quickly. It wasn’t anything major, but dental stuff is never fun.

After work, I stopped by my parents’ house to pick up some termite treatment I had ordered for them. I told the contractor that we’d be heading back to the property on Wednesday to work on the repairs. We’re going to treat the wood ourselves and start patching everything back up. At this point, the termite guy can worry about the perimeter whenever he decides to show up. If he doesn’t call soon, I’ll just find someone else to finish the job. I’m learning that if you want something done on time, sometimes you just have to do it yourself.

Later in the evening, I sat down and went through all my finances for the month so far. I logged everything into the EveryDollar app, but I haven’t done a deep analysis yet. I just know I’m still in the positive for the month, though not by much. There’s been a lot of spending lately between home repairs, moving prep, and regular expenses. I can feel the weight of everything stacking up, so I’m trying to stay organized before it spirals.

The tenants who are moving out also reached out today to give me an update. They said the house is mostly clean and that the only things left are a hot tub in the backyard and a few items in the garage. That’s good news, but the wife started asking about the security deposit and whether she still had to pay November’s rent since they’re leaving early. I had to remind her that the lease runs until December and that I can’t just flip the property with two weeks’ notice. Even though I’ll be moving in myself, I’ll still have a vacancy at the condo once I leave, so I need every bit of time and rent to balance things out. She said it was fine for now, but I’m hoping that doesn’t turn into a bigger conversation later.

As for the condo listing, Facebook Marketplace has been silent. Not a single message so far. This weekend I’m going to lower the price a bit and repost it, maybe simplify the description so it looks more casual. I’ll share it in a few local groups and even throw it on Craigslist to see if that helps. It’s all about trial and error at this point.

November is shaping up to be a challenging month. Between work, moving, repairs, and all the events my wife already added to the calendar, it’s going to be packed from start to finish. I just need to stay focused and keep moving forward, one day at a time. Wish me luck, I think I’m going to need it.

Today was one of those “tie up loose ends” kind of days.
