The past couple of days have been pure chaos. Yesterday, there was an issue at work that spiraled into a long day of headaches and tough conversations. By today, things escalated to the point where we had to fire an employee. Thankfully, I was able to suggest transferring him to a different department instead, and the manager there agreed to take him. That felt like a small win in an otherwise stressful situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the home front, I listed the condo for rent on Zillow and Facebook Marketplace. The photos aren\u2019t great since they\u2019re just screenshots from an old video I took before buying the place. The condo\u2019s not exactly picture-ready right now since it\u2019s still full of our stuff and a bit messy. I listed it at 1,750, which is slightly above market value, just to test the waters. It got a lot of clicks on Facebook the first day but no saves or shares. That tells me there\u2019s interest, but the price and poor photos probably aren\u2019t helping. I\u2019ll likely drop it to 1,700 once it\u2019s actually time to find a tenant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My wife and I also stopped by the rental property to check it out. She thinks the house is fine but, of course, wants a few upgrades\u2014new doors, fixed closets, fresh paint, bathroom cabinets, and more painting for the rooms. Just a few small things, right? It\u2019s another set of projects to add to my list. On top of that, we\u2019re still not really on good terms, which makes all this juggling even more exhausting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current tenants told me they spread the word to some people they know, and one person showed interest. The only catch is that their job at a nearby hotel doesn\u2019t start until mid-November or early December. That means I\u2019ve got some breathing room before the move, which honestly helps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Still, work is now short-staffed, and this quarter was already shaping up to be a tough one. Despite it all, I plan to finish the year strong.
