The Apopka Roof Is Almost Finished
The roof at my Apopka rental property is finally at the finish line. All that’s left is for the engineer to go up there and inspect it. The roofer told me that he’s trying to schedule the engineer to come out on Monday, so hopefully everything goes well and we can finally close out this project.
He sent me some pictures of the completed roof, and it looks really nice. It’s about time! I’m glad that this headache is finally almost behind me, especially after all the problems and delays I’ve dealt with over the last several months.
I’m also happy that the property now has a brand-new roof and a brand-new AC system. Neither of these replacements was planned, and both ended up happening because of situations that forced me to spend a considerable amount of money. However, at least I now have two major components of the property replaced, which should hopefully mean fewer problems with them in the coming years. It was expensive, and the timing couldn’t have been worse, but it’s still progress.
Claude Cowork Is Actually Making Me Money
On the AI front, I think my experiments with Claude Cowork are finally starting to pay off. I’ve now sold quite a few products that were listed entirely using Claude. The listings are getting views, the products are selling, and I’m pretty happy with the results.
This is a big deal for me because I’ve spent so much time experimenting with different AI tools, trying to figure out how to use them to make my business more efficient. Now I finally have something that’s actually working and helping me generate revenue. It’s almost like having an employee that I’m paying only $20 a month to handle my listings.
I’ve been trying to see how much work I can get out of the $20 Cowork subscription, and so far, it’s been able to handle pretty much everything I’ve asked it to do. If I eventually need to upgrade to the $100 plan, I think I would seriously consider it. At this point, I feel like Cowork is already paying for itself, so spending more money on it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad decision if it allows me to get considerably more work done.
What’s exciting is that I’m finally using AI to accomplish something that directly makes me money. I’ve been experimenting with this technology for a while now, and it’s refreshing to see it actually producing results instead of just giving me another tool to play around with.
Should I Cancel My Own Listing App?
I’ve also been thinking about canceling my n8n subscription, which costs me approximately $25 a month. Cowork is only $20, and right now it feels like it can do a lot more. I was actually about to cancel the subscription a couple of days ago, but then I started thinking about the differences between the two workflows.
With Cowork, I still have to clean the products, take the pictures, get everything organized and sit down at my computer to set up the listing process. It can handle the actual listing work, but I still need to prepare everything for it.
With my own app, I can work directly from my phone. The pictures are already there, and I don’t have to worry about transferring them to another program or sitting down in my office. Sometimes it’s much more convenient to clean a product, snap a few pictures and create the listing almost immediately with the push of a button.
That’s something I don’t want to lose because it makes listing products while I’m doing other things much easier. I might be able to create a similar workflow using Claude’s mobile app, but I haven’t really experimented with that yet. I’ll have to see whether there’s a way to use Cowork without having to go through the extra steps of uploading and organizing everything on my computer.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that I actually prefer the way Cowork writes my listings compared to the prompt I currently use in my own app. I might just need to make some adjustments to my existing prompt and improve the results without having to change the entire system.
For now, I think I’m going to keep both subscriptions a little longer while I figure out which workflow makes the most sense. I don’t want to cancel something that’s already useful just because I’ve found another tool that can do similar work. If anything, I might be able to use both for different situations.
Halloween Plans
Today is Halloween, and I’m hoping to get a little bit of business work done before heading out with the family for trick-or-treating. I’m happy with the progress I’ve made this week, especially with the roof finally getting finished and Claude proving that it can handle real business tasks.
I’m starting to see some actual results from the systems I’ve been experimenting with, and I want to keep building on that. For now, I’ll try to get some work done before spending the evening with my family.
