Based on everything I’ve been tracking this year, my net worth should have been somewhere around $450,000 by now. However, at the beginning of October, I recalculated the values of my real estate properties for the quarter and discovered that some of them had dropped quite a bit in value. As a result, my net worth is actually considerably lower than what I’ve been reporting.
After updating those numbers, my net worth came out to approximately $417,000. That calculation was done at the beginning of October, so the number has probably changed since then. Initially, I thought it might be a little higher by now, but considering how much money I’ve been spending on repairs at the Apopka rental property, it could actually be lower. My best estimate right now is somewhere between $415,000 and $417,000. Either way, it’s nowhere near the $450,000 I thought I had reached.
This also means that my goal of reaching $500,000 in net worth by the end of 2026 is probably not going to happen. I’m still going to try to finish the year as high as possible, and I’d really like to get back to $450,000 before December is over. That would still be a pretty good accomplishment, even if I fall short of my original goal.
Another factor that could limit my net worth growth over the next couple of months is how much money I’m putting into the business. I’ve been spending a considerable amount on product development, research and working with manufacturers. I’m essentially investing in new products that I hope will generate more revenue in the future, but those investments aren’t necessarily going to translate into an immediate increase in my net worth.
I still plan on growing my net worth between now and the end of the year, but I don’t foresee any major increases at the moment, especially with the property repairs and business investments I’m making. Of course, I could be wrong. There are still a couple of months left in the year, and a lot can happen between now and December.
I mainly wanted to correct the record because I’ve been reporting a net worth of approximately $450,000 when the updated numbers show something significantly lower. For now, I’m putting my estimated net worth at around $415,000 to $417,000, and I’ll see where things stand at the end of the year.
