I want to Innovate for my Employer

I’ve been advised to exercise caution when using AI tools at work. In all honesty, the company has been very slow to adopt the technology. The firewall restrictions on the network make it difficult to use much beyond a basic chatbot, and most of the tools that could provide meaningful improvements are either unavailable or heavily restricted.

At this point, I’ve decided to push forward anyway and find ways to make progress. As mentioned in a previous entry, I received approval to help systemize one of our processes. Not long after that, the company removed employee access to many of the tools they had originally provided. That probably tells you everything you need to know about the situation.

Regardless, I plan on continuing to use AI and automation wherever I can to improve operations within my market. It will take a while, but that’s okay. Most worthwhile projects take time.

My goal is simple. Every time upper management comes down to our location, I want to have something new, something better, and something more efficient to show them. Whether that’s a new workflow or a new tool, I want to keep building. Small improvements compound over time, and I think we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible with these tools.
