Finished Door Installation, Now to Plan the Family Move

Today I went back to my Apopka rental to finish up work on the door. The contractor completed the installation, but I told him I’d take care of the priming and painting on the drywall another time. There’s still a lot that needs to be done in that house, so I’ll have to make another trip soon to keep things moving.

A couple of nights ago, I got a service call from that same property about the dryer not working. It had apparently been down for a few days. I found someone on Facebook Marketplace selling used dryers, and he delivered one to the house for free in exchange for the old one. He was a funny guy, a bit all over the place, but he got the job done. He even cleaned out the dryer vent while he was there, which saved me some time and effort.

I also lowered the rental listing on Marketplace by a hundred dollars and received two messages, but like usual with Facebook, neither person followed up. It looks like I might have to drop the price again if I want to get serious interest. I’m not sure how much lower I can go before it stops being worth it, though. The ad currently has twenty clicks and only two messages, which isn’t a great ratio.

Tomorrow I plan to stop by the other house to drop off some more tools and see how far along the tenants are. Last I heard, they were just finishing up patching a few holes. Hopefully they wrap up soon so I can finally start working on that property. The plan right now is to work on that house during the week and focus on the Apopka rental during the weekends. I also need to make a list for my contractor of everything that still needs to be done because this is way too much work for me to handle on my own.
